At the reshuffle of the government, General Tseng Jing-ling (Ret.) has been appointed as the 15th Minister of the Veterans Affairs Commission (VAC) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) as of September 10, 2009. General Tseng has gone through his military career with artillery before the rank of major general. He had also served other capacities as division commander, army commanding general, deputy chief of general staff, and the president of the National Defense University before he assumed the position as a strategy advisor to the President in November 2008.

 

The immediate past minister General Kao Hua-chu, in the meantime, has been appointed by President Ma Ying-jeou as the Minister of National Defense, effective on the same date.
