  VFW Ladies Auxiliary National President Tittle visits ROC  
 
Tittle visited VAC

Mrs. Jan Tittle National President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) of the United States and her daughter Mrs. Jamie Godfrey visited the Veterans Affairs Commission (VAC) for six days from November 18th to 23rd 2009.     

 

 


The two VIPs paid a visit to VAC and called on Deputy Minister Lin in the second day afternoon when they arrived in Taipei. Deputy Minister Lin appreciated VFW’s support for ROC in the past decades and presented the Medal of Honor with cravat of VAC to National President Mrs. Tittle, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to upholding international justice, safeguarding freedom & peace, promoting veterans welfare, and strengthening mutual relations and cooperation between VFW and VAC.

The visitors called on Mr. Vincent Siew, Vice President of ROC, at Vice President’s office the last day morning. Vice President Siew remarked that the ROC"s Veterans Affairs Commission and the American Veterans Organizations have a long-established friendly relationship, and he added that Taiwan will change the ROC national military system, the all volunteer service system. We hope to learn the experience from the US in regard to serving the retirees of the new system.

The VIPs also visited Taipei Veterans General Hospital, and Bade Veterans Domiciliary Center. They were impressed that VAC’s performance on the medical care and home & nursing care for veterans were both comprehensive and humane.

 

 

The visitors also took time to visit Taipei First Girls High School, QingJing Veterans Farm, National Palace Museum, Taipei 101 Financial Building, Yingge Pottery, during their stay in Taiwan.
