 Minister of Defense Mr. Yéro Boly of Burkina Faso and his party visited the Veterans Affairs Commission (VAC) on 31st May, 2010 during his ROC (Taiwan) visit, which is at the invitation of the Ministry of National Defense (MND). In the afternoon, the VIPs, accompanied by His Excellency Ambassador Jacques Sawadogo, Deputy Chief of General Staff for Intelligence Lt. Gen. Wang, Jenq-hsiau and Chief of The National Defense Medical Bureau Lt. Gen. Fan, Pao-luo, paid a visit to VAC and called on Minister Tseng, Jing-ling.
 Minister Tseng briefly introduced the ROC veterans service system, and emphasized that the ROC defense system can only be successfully completed when the veterans service system is seamlessly supporting the military system. The Employment Assistance Programs, Medical Care, Home Care, Educational Assistance, and other general services provided by VAC encourage the general civilians to be more willing to join the military service. Minister Tseng also presented the VAC pin to Mr. Yéro Boly and His Excellency Ambassador Jacques Sawadogo as a token of friendship.
 After the VAC multimedia briefing, the VIPs learned the functions and policies of VAC. They expressed their admiration for VAC achievements in outstanding veterans’ services saying it is a good reference for their own system.
Also, the VIPs visited Taipei Veterans General Hospital on the same day. They were welcomed by Superintendent Dr. Lin, Fang-yu, Director of Center for Geriatrics & Gerontology Dr. Chen, Liang-gong and Supervisor of Nursing Department Ms. Lin, Li-hua. The VIPs highly praised the well-managed medical systems and sophisticated medical equipments of Taipei Veterans General Hospital. The visitors once again hailed the ROC’s veterans system and services.
