Deputy Minister Lu attend 2019 VFW Convention

Deputy Minister Lu attended the 2019 Convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars from July 18 to 29 2019. He thanked the VFW for passing the resolutions supporting the ROC. He also sincerely expressed his favorable position in promoting the relationship between the United States and the ROC, and continued to call on the US government to provide sufficient weapons to the ROC under the "Taiwan Relations Act."

Deputy Minister Lu first visited New York Service Center of the US Department of Veterans Affairs before the convention to learn about the first-line services offered by the VA and to compare the similarities and differences between in order to benefit in reforming the services of Taiwan in the future.

Deputy Minister Lu delivered a speech at the VFW’s National Security and Foreign Affairs Committee to express the ROC's consistent position in participating in the international maintenance of regional peace and stability. He also addressed the opening ceremony of the joint conference. In addition to thanking the friends for passing the resolutions, he also hoped that both sides to continue to deepen the relationships.

Lu also visited the ROC Overseas Associations in Atlanta and Oklahoma to express the gratitude for their contribution to the diplomacy. He stated that the government’s position in taking care of the overseas veterans will never change, and hoped the associations could support the government in return.
