AL National Commander Reistad Visit R.O.C. (Taiwan) 2018

AL (the American Legion) National Commander Brett Reistad and his gorgeous team members have just completed their annual visit to Taiwan at the invitation of the Minister of the R.O.C. Veterans Affairs Council (VAC) Gen. Chiu, Kuo-Cheng.

The AL leader visited VAC and Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Kinkaseki POW memorial park, INDSR (Institute for National Defense & Security Research), and AIT (American Institute in Taiwan) during Dec. 16th to Dec. 19th.  On Dec. 17th morning, the special guest was accompanied by VAC Minister Chiu to pay a courtesy call on President Tsai at the Presidential Office.  President Tsai offered a warm reception to the delegates and all the distinguished guests had a very wonderful time at the Office.

National Commander Reistad came to VAC for briefing on Dec. 17th evening, and was greeted warmly by Minister Chiu. Minister Chiu exchanged VAC’s veterans service experience with National Commander Reistad following the earlier awarding Medal of Honor to him. Chiu thanked AL for contribution to facilitate both side’s veterans affairs interchange, draft and support to pass ROC-favored resolution and submit it to the US congress and Administration.

The team also visited many popular sites nearby in Taipei City, enjoying a wonderful trip and time, and were really impressed about the prosperity and hospitality in Taiwan.
